The founder put together an original 15 question survey and administered it among the teachers at Ek Prayaas with the goal of better understanding the required areas of inteventions at the premises of the Ek Prayaas School in Ludhiana, Punjab. The survey targeted four major domains, which spanned accessibility and inclusion, learning and study materials, school infrastructure, and methods of teaching. It sought to understand the measures and provisions already in place at the facility, and to recognize areas of improvement that the Accessible Schools Network Project could target. The results of this survey informed the content of the Accessibilty Plan Guide, currently being drafted, and also the material donation that would best serve the aims and goals of the Ek Prayaas institution.
The founder has also organized The Accessible Schools Network fundraising campaign through Milaap, an online fundraising platform. With a goal amount of INR 50,000/$ 596, the fundraiser seeks to raise money to aid the daily operations and functions of Ek Prayaas, and to bolster their efforts towards enriching the students at the school.
To support this online fundraiser, Idhant has also organized stalls at exhibitions such as The Yellow Tree to sell rakhis, jewelry sets and napkins made by students at Ek Prayaas, raising an additional INR 10,000/$ 119.
Based on the founder's engagement with practical and applicable STEM curricula at programs like JHU Engineering Innovation, he created interactive science kits, which included a balloon car and an air cannon, to demonstrate the applied concepts of air pressure, volume and displacement.
After distributing the kits at the Ek Prayaas School, the founder carried out instructional workshops, taking students through the processes of setting up the apparatus while explaining their operating principles as well.
These workshops had dual benefits, not only furthering students' understanding of the applications of Physics concepts, but also having the benefit of serving as a form of physiotherapy, as the process of setting up the equipment required building muscular coordination in the face and diaphragm, and also matched some of the exercises Ek Prayaas recommends to counter muscular atrophy.
The founder also redesigned the brochure for Ek Prayaas to make it easier to read, more informative, and friendlier. The new design highlighted the key features of the school, and included a QR code mapped to the location of the school to make it easier for parents of prospective students to find the facility.
